Are you or someone you know a caregiver who must face the often overwhelming demands of caring for a loved-one with long-term medical problems that require your assistance. Spouses and partners are invited to join Donna Atherton a Caregiver Coach/Life Coach and caregiver in a Talking Circle. We provide an supportive and safe place to share your commonalities like: frustration, anger, losing interest in activities, feeling resentful, short tempered, increase use of alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, withdrawn from social contacts, decrease productivity at work, exhaustion, feeling helpless, and guilt. Talking circles are not limited to a certain topic content; it is not a support group. Instead its purpose is to connect with other caregivers with similarities that concern caregivers. It is a place to meet and talk about whatever you desire while others listens without invasive interruption. If someone wishes to make a comment or express their thoughts it is limited to a faint grunt or noise through the nose. Negative comments are not allowed, especially when someone is speaking. The circle can go around several times so that everyone gets a chance to talk. Each person must wait their turn. Talking circles are safe environments and you should feel comfortable knowing that no one will interrupt or criticize you.

To make my life easier.. I am going to post this... In order for me to keep track of who is coming and who is not coming. I can't have a ton of people come to this house, but those that do if you can carpool that would be great. The drive time from Boston to this house is about 2 1/2 hours. It's right on a lake- Cost to stay over night $20 per person per night and $30 per couple per night. You would need to bring blankets, air mattress, towels, booze, drinks, cooler, a chair and pillow. I sent some of you an email directly for the invite.. However; I could see I forgot a few people that were close to me. So this is what I am going to do.. I am going to post this here. You have to be considered close to me in order to come to this event. Meaning, I would need to really feel like we connect and I know you. No new folks, no folks I don't really see, no folks that might drive me crazy, if you have to think about it, then we probably aren't close.... get it? LOL You need to bring BBQ items.. please post next to your name what you will bring! Also; if you could bring a breakfast item, or just chip an extra $5 towards breakfast food. You can swim, relax, chat, tell ghost stories, swim, drink, chat, eat, tell ghost stories.. got it? No kids..adults only.. ROCK ON!

The Penobscot River, a tough class V river, has chutes, drops, and large holes that challenge both guide and guest alike in exciting rapids like Exterminator, Cribworks, and the huge Nesowdnehunk Falls. Combine this with the spectacular Ripogenus Gorge, a scrumptious river lunch and great views of Mt. Katahdin, and this Maine rafting trip will be one you will remember for a lifetime! Due to the difficulty of this river, guests must be 14 years of age and weigh at least 110 pounds. 13 Miles of Pure Adrenaline! BBQ lunch is served half way through this trip on the RIVER!!! Rock on folks!! We had so much fun this weekend we turned into the adrenaline junkie... There are five of us booked and have room for 3 more on my raft. Then off to start the next raft!! So if you want to float with me, I mean us that are booked- then call NOW~ By Kim asking, sometimes we receive. Instead of full price for this trip...you will save $20 per person if you decide to come along with the "Mello Group!" Yes, that is right.. total cost for rafting is......... $84.50. We are going to have the same guide as our last trip, he did a great job. He will take care of us -we tipped him well. I am not staying at this campground; however if you decide to extend your trip and get there a day before and stay that night..it's really cheap!!! That is completely up to you.... it really is a long drive, so you should consider it. Anyway; anyone else in for rafting up in Maine in August? Call (1-[masked]) Three Rivers White Water Rock on "Mello" Group.... "All AHEAD!" **IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE OUR PICTURES from last weekend.. go to Dead RIVER, photos 149-167

COME CELEBRATE THE PUGGIE DAYS OF SUMMER AT THE AUGUST PUG SUNDAY MEETUP! The August Pug Sunday meetup will be held at Assistant Organizer Sharon's home in Carver - where Buford, Millie, and Max hang out. This is my favorite location - a quiet, rural side street with plenty of parking, a HUGE fenced yard, plenty of chairs, and lots and lots of flat grassy green space to run and run and run! Remember that your host provides the soft drinks and paperware for each meetup, but we count on our members to bring the snacks. Feel free to bring snacks for the Pugs, but try to bring soft snacks so that Clovis can have some too! If you are coming to your first meetup, please be sure to let us know, so we can introduce you to everyone and make you and your Puggies feel welcome! WOULD YOU LIKE TO HOST A MEETUP? Please let your organizer know! We try to schedule the meetups for the 2010 calendar in advance so that you can plan your Puggies' social calendar! Please note that all of the Sunday meetups are scheduled to take place at at Assistant Organizer Sharon's home in Carver - where Buford, Millie, and Max hang out - and all of the Saturday Meetups are scheduled to take place at your Organizer Charlotte Creeley's home in Brockton - at Casa Clovis and Cletus. However, we are always delighted to change the venue when someone else wants to host a meetup! We're hoping that the folks who have hosted before will be able will step in and host a social or two in 2010. For those who haven't hosted before, but would like to try, and if you do have a fenced yard large enough to accommodate anywhere from 30 to 60 Puggies and a few assorted other small breeds, please let your organizer know. We would like to give everyone a chance to host who would like to host! It's fun! ABOUT THE MEETUPS We're all responsible Pug owners here, so don't be concerned about your babies. Wherever we meet, we'll make sure to have shade and plenty of water for keeping Pugs cool. There will be soft drinks and something to snack on for the people attending! If you bring treats for the Pugs, please ONLY hand out treats around the central table where everyone can keep an eye on the dogs, DON'T FEED CLOVIS, and PLEASE BE SURE that nothing gets dropped - your organizer has a Pug (yes, that would be Clovis...) who has brain damage which makes it very difficult for him to swallow. I don't want Clovis to choke to death on a stolen treat, and I'm sure no one else does either.. Thank you for your consideration! Other small dogs are welcome, but please ask in advance if you can bring dogs other than Pugs. If you have a little Puggie roughneck on your hands, you can bring him too - but be prepared to keep an eye on him. If he starts bullying or being too rough with another dog, give him a time out until he can get himself under control. We want everyone to have fun! Your organizer pays $72.00 twice a year in January and July for the privilege of organizing the South of Boston Pug Meetups, and believe me, it's worth every penny for the fun we have. If you would like to help defray the costs, please make a voluntary contribution of $1.00 to Charlotte Creeley each time you attend. Remember, it's VOLUNTARY - even if I had to pay twice as much, it would be worth it for the just to see the smile on Clovis's and Cletus's faces when the Puggie meetups roll around.
